Celebrating 16 Years of Service – Happy Birthday, TRD #1334
On this day sixteen years ago, the Charter was officially signed, establishing Thames River Detachment #1334 as the newest unit within the Department of Connecticut, Marine Corps League.
Marine Bill Lee was the driving force behind the effort, inspiring local Marines to come together and form a detachment serving New London County. The first elected officers—Justin Eldredge, Mike Macek, Jeff Waterson, and Adam Thomas—laid the foundation for what would become a strong and active presence in the state.
Since that time, TRD #1334 has grown in both size and impact. No longer the smallest detachment in Connecticut, we have accomplished much together, honoring our mission, our Corps, and our community.
Happy Birthday, Thames River Detachment #1334!
Semper Fidelis,
Tom Peters
Commandant
New London County
