Nomination and Selection Process
1. Nominations
Members of the detachment are invited to submit nominations for Marine of the Year. Nominations should include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions, achievements, and why they believe this Marine deserves the award. Self-nominations are not accepted.
2. Selection
A selection committee, composed of past Marine of the Year recipients and detachment officers, reviews all nominations and evaluates each candidate based on their service, dedication, and impact on the detachment and community.
3. Announcement and Presentation
The Marine of the Year is announced and honored at the annual detachment awards ceremony, where the recipient is presented with a commemorative plaque and the prestigious Marine of the Year medal.
