On this day sixteen years ago, the Charter was officially signed, establishing Thames River Detachment #1334<\/strong> as the newest unit within the Department of Connecticut, Marine Corps League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marine Bill Lee<\/strong> was the driving force behind the effort, inspiring local Marines to come together and form a detachment serving New London County. The first elected officers\u2014Justin Eldredge, Mike Macek, Jeff Waterson,<\/strong> and Adam Thomas<\/strong>\u2014laid the foundation for what would become a strong and active presence in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since that time, TRD #1334 has grown in both size and impact.
