As we celebrate **249 years of honor, courage, and commitment**, the **Thames River Detachment** invites you to join us for the **249th Marine Corps Birthday Ball**! This annual event is a proud tradition where Marines, veterans, families, and supporters come together to celebrate the birth of our beloved Corps and to honor the sacrifices and achievements of Marines throughout history.<\/p>\n

Event Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Ceremonial Cake Cutting<\/strong>: Witness the time-honored tradition of the Marine Corps Birthday cake cutting, where the oldest and youngest Marines in attendance share in this symbol of passing on the legacy of the Corps.<\/p>\n

– Dinner & Dancing<\/strong>: Enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by an evening of dancing and camaraderie with fellow Marines, veterans, and guests.<\/p>\n

– Marine Corps Birthday Message<\/strong>: Listen as we read the traditional **Marine Corps Birthday Message** from General John A. Lejeune, reminding us of the rich history and pride of the United States Marine Corps.<\/p>\n

– Awards & Recognitions<\/strong>: We will also take this special occasion to recognize outstanding members of the Thames River Detachment and honor those who have made significant contributions to our community.<\/p>\n

– Marines & Veterans: Dress Blues or Service Uniforms
\n– Civilians: Black Tie or Formal Attire<\/p>\n

\nTickets include a full-course dinner, entertainment, and access to all the evening\u2019s events.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcc5 RSVP Deadline: Please purchase tickets and RSVP by October’s Detachment Meeting.\u00a0 Only members can purchase tickets.\u00a0 Guests may attend if sponsored and paid for as guest by a member.\u00a0 A non member cannot purchase entry, only attend as a guest of a member.<\/p>\n
